Process
The process of creating the Loop’d Lamp began with narrowing down concepts and laser-cutting a full-scale prototype to determine the optimal placement for both the light and storage elements. After exploring bent wood techniques and encountering challenges with tight curve radii, I pivoted to CNC-machined birch plywood, but technical failures led me to adopt a hands-on approach. Using a jigsaw, I carefully cut and layered three-quarter-inch plywood, iterating on the design as I worked. Once the structural elements were complete, I incorporated lighting in the lamp’s center to enhance its ambiance. Despite roadblocks along the way, the process showcased adaptability and problem-solving, resulting in a design that balances form and function.
